There is this tag going on about 'Products I regeret buying'. First of all I wanted to write about products that I regret buying but then I found out that don't have many of them. What I do want to show you are products that did not work for me and that I will be selling on the 2nd Vienna Beauty Flea Market in June.
To start with nailpolish, I have to mention that these polishes are not bad, I just found cheaper or better products to replace them.
Bluntly I am not the kind of girl who wears glittery nailpolish, so this OPI glitter polish from the Burlesque Collection may be pretty in the bottle but I don't like the way it looks on me. It is a decent nailpolish though but I prefer a cream or shimmer finish.
Chanel's Rouge Noir. As much as I like Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction this nailpolish is way to expensive for me. I've gone through several bottles, now I found a cheaper replacement for it (thank God).
Seche Vite's Seche Base is a nice but shimmery basecoat and that is the problem. I prefer cream nailpolish and this Base Coat peaks through, so I use Butter London's base coat instead. If you like shimmery or glittery nailpolishes this Base Coat is perfect (especially for glitter).
This is what happens if I'm bored and watch too many Youtube videos. I end up buying a highlighter by Benefit which has a cute packaging but looks exactly the same like my Jemma Kidd's Rose Gold cream highlighter - damn! The highlighter is great, the stick-form ensures easy application and you could use the sponge that came with it ( I didn't I used my fingers or a brush) to blend it in.
Blushes ... My very dry and sensitive skin prefers cream blushes. The Nars one, Lokoum, looked very pretty in internet swatches but is too dark for me. I have to say that I'm not a big fan of Nars' bluhes in general, the only one I really like is Penny Lane. MAC's Dollymix emphasizes my rosnacea pretty badly and though I love the colour it's a miss. On the last Beauty Flea Market I was so happy to find the Michael Kors Ver Hollywood blush in Sunset Coral but guess what - I reacted allergicaly to it! Last but nut least in the blush department is the contour colour by MAC Strada from Gareth Pugh's collection. This blush is the perfect colour but it makes my cheeks itch like crazy, that's such a bummer.
Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on Pencils. Eyeryone is raving about these pencils and I liked them too but the only problem with them is that they do not stay put on my waterline, like other products do. The colours are fantastic but they are lacking staying power on me. I used them on the waterline and as an eyeshadow base, they work pretty well as an eyeshadow base but there are better ones out there.
It's a pity that Rouge Bunny Rouge left the German/Austrian beauty market because they are of good quailty and beautiful packaged. Alas the matte ones (this one is Grey Go Away Lourie) don't work for me because it fades quickly throughout the day. I don't know why because the shimmery ones last on my eyelids pretty well. I tried this one with different bases but went back to my grey MAC eyeshadow in Scene because this one does it's job well.
Limited Edition (hyped) products make me buy stuff without thinking logically. This Clinique lipstick in Coral Crush is beautiful on everybody else but looks horrible on me. And I don't like coral lipsticks. Why did I purchase this one?
Do you have products that do not work for you? What are you doing with them?
